Remote hands: the qualified physical presence the datacenter doesn't always give you.

Datacenter remote hands services are fine for simple operations (a reboot, unplugging a cable). Work that calls for real technical understanding of the server — reading diagnostic LEDs, pulling the correct hot-swap component, interpreting iDRAC/iLO — needs specialised staff. That's what we do.

What we do

Qualified operations on site.

  • Hot-swap component replacement: PSUs, drives, fans, in production with no downtime.
  • Visual diagnostics: front-panel LEDs, LCD panel, error codes, cabling inspection.
  • Photos and screenshots of iDRAC/iLO/XClarity/IPMI sent to the customer in real time.
  • Physical reboots and reset procedures (full power cycle, BMC reset).
  • Cable management: tidy recabling, labelling, photos of the rack before and after.
How this differs from datacenter remote hands

An engineer, not an operator.

The remote hands services offered by datacenters are operational — suited to simple, scripted tasks. On enterprise servers, situations often demand technical judgement: knowing which slot to pull a drive from, identifying the correct LED, telling a warning apart from a fault, reading iDRAC. Our remote hands adds precisely that layer.

FAQ

The questions we get asked most.

How quickly can you be on site?

It depends on the datacenter and how urgent it is. At sites where we operate regularly (e.g. Aruba PSP), typical activation is within a few hours. New sites require datacenter authorisation before access — usually granted the same day.

Can I book remote hands in advance for a scheduled window?

Yes, and it's the best way to work. We agree on a window (overnight, weekend), bring the necessary spare parts, carry out the work and leave a written report.
