Bergamo at a glance

Bergamo: its industrial base and its server infrastructure.

Bergamo is a key province for our work: alongside a historically strong industrial base (mechanical engineering in Dalmine, textiles in Valle Seriana, plastics and industrial chemicals), it hosts Aruba's Global Cloud Data Center in Ponte San Pietro, one of the main colocation facilities in Lombardy, where we work regularly.

For our hardware work this means two distinct profiles. (1) Industrial companies with on-premises servers: mid-sized ERP clusters, business systems integrated with MES, production planning systems. Continuous load, high sensitivity to downtime given the value of the industrial processes involved. (2) Customers in colocation at Aruba PSP or other data centers in the area: physical server estates managed remotely, for which we provide on-site work at the data center (remote hands or scheduled interventions).

From Melzo we reach Bergamo in about 45 minutes via the A4. Ponte San Pietro (Aruba site) in 40-50 minutes via the A4 and the Capriate exit. Treviglio, Caravaggio, Romano di Lombardia in the lower Bergamo plain are even quicker. On a Critical contract the 4 working hours SLA is easily met.

Industrial companies with Dell PowerEdge R740/R750 or HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 clusters (typically 2-6 nodes), virtualization on VMware vSphere or Hyper-V, dedicated SAN storage or iSCSI to NAS. On the colocation side: more varied server estates, often custom Supermicro configurations, NVMe-ready servers, 25G or faster networking. Larger customers frequently run integrated hardware + software maintenance contracts with tnsolutions group.

FAQ · Bergamo

The questions we are asked most often about the Bergamo area.

Do you work at the Aruba data center in Ponte San Pietro?

Yes, regularly. Aruba's Global Cloud Data Center in Ponte San Pietro (BG) is one of the main colocation facilities in Lombardy and one of the sites we attend most frequently. We know the access procedures, the technical escort hours and the operational workflow. For customers who would rather not send their own staff, we offer remote hands. See the dedicated page.

How long does it take you to get on-site in Bergamo?

From Melzo via the A4: Bergamo city in about 45 minutes, Ponte San Pietro in 40-50 minutes, Treviglio in 30-40 minutes, Romano di Lombardia in 35-45 minutes. The A4 corridor is our main route towards Bergamo and is rarely badly congested outside extreme peak hours.

Which industrial sectors in Bergamo are the main users of enterprise servers?

Industrial engineering (Dalmine and surroundings), textiles (Valle Seriana), plastics and industrial chemicals, dairy (rural Bergamo), healthcare (IRCCS Papa Giovanni XXIII and private clinics). Each sector has a typical server profile: integrated ERP for manufacturing, process tracking systems for textiles, clinical applications for healthcare.

Do you work with MSPs in the province of Bergamo?

Yes. We work with MSPs and system integrators from the Bergamo area who use us as a specialist hardware partner, particularly for work in colocation facilities (Aruba PSP), hardware refreshes on mid-sized clusters and specialist diagnostics on enterprise systems.

For Bergamo customers, are Essential, Business or Critical contracts typical?

A varied mix. For large industrial companies and for anything in colocation at Aruba PSP, Business or Critical contracts are common. For manufacturing SMEs in the area, Essential contracts are frequent, with an upgrade to Business as load grows. For healthcare: Critical by default.
